Sketching with My Body Model

Hi team, it’s Jess from Fat.bobbin.girl and BroadInTheSeams here. I wanted to share some inspiration and ideas that you might be able to use during #MMMayPlus2020 (either as part of participating or your wardrobe planning in general)!

Want to know more about Me Made May (the idea that started MMMayPlus2020) and have your burning questions answered? Check out this FAQ!

My Body Model is offering 15% off any purchase of 1-5 download codes between April 28-May 8. Use code ‘MEMADEPLUS’

My Body Model makes custom fashion sketch templates with your body measurements! The website steps you through all the measurements you’ll need to take in order for them to create your unique croquis.

It’s free to plug your measurements in to their system online, and they also have a free PDF of 24 hairstyle drawings & some beginner drawing tutorials that are available to anyone who signs up for the email list.

Some lovely ladies from the Curvy Sewing Collective reviewed My Body Model shortly after it first came out, and although there’s been lots of changes since them (including adding the option of ‘no bust’), it could still be helpful!

The My Body Model blog is full of inspiration from makers who use the custom croquis to inspire their makes! Click on any of the images below to be taken to the blog!

Do you sketch before buying or sewing up a pattern? Do you think you’ll be using sketches during May?
